Empowering Learning are seeking to appoint a highly effective Maths Teacher to join their very successful school based in Southend-On-Sea. They have an outstanding ethos where staff are supported to become the best.

The school was built in the mid-19th Century and began as Southend's first purpose-built comprehensive school. As such it was designed to be the forefront of educational provision at that time. They ensure that their staff can deliver to the highest educational standards, this enables the, to stay ahead of an ever-evolving education system and a constantly changing society. The Trust strongly believes in developing students, so that they can achieve their potential both academically and as members of their community.

Responsibilities of a Maths Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4 & A-Level, ensuring all students reach their full potential.
  • Plan and prepare effective lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and curiosity.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities and staff development programs.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and have experience teaching Maths at secondary school level.
  • Be passionate about Maths and committed to inspiring students to excel in the subject.
  • Have excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Be able to differentiate teaching to cater to all levels of ability, including SEN and EAL students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to drive progress and innovation within the Maths department.
