About the Role:Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a vibrant and nurturing SEND school in Southport. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide tailored support for a Year 10 student with additional needs. This role is vital in helping the student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support tailored to the student's individual education plan (IEP).
  • Assist with daily learning activities, ensuring the student remains engaged and on task.
  • Support the student in managing emotions and behaviours in line with school policies.
  • Liaise with teachers, SEND specialists, and parents/carers to monitor progress and adapt strategies where necessary.
  • Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment for the student.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND, preferably in a school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with staff and families.
  • A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • A DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
