Working as an ESOL tutor through Prospero, you will provide high-quality English language instruction to EAL students. You will work closely with students to develop their language skills, enhance their academic performance, and build their confidence in using the English language in everyday situations.
We are currently recruiting for an ESOL Tutor to provide 1:1 Maths and English support to a Year 10 student, originally from Gambia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective ESOL lessons tailored to the needs of EAL students.
- Assess student language proficiency and create personalised learning plans.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and provide regular feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and performance.
Position Details:
- Location: Southport
- Position: ESOL Tutor
- Hours: 15 hours per week (5 x 2 hour sessions)
- Start date: December 2024
- Duration: Ongoing
- Hourly rate: Minimum rate of 25.00p/h
Experience, Training and Qualifications:
- QTS or equivalent
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
- ESOL qualification e.g., TEFL or CELTA
- A minimum of 1-year ESOL tutoring experience
To be eligible for this role, you must:
- Hold the right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references.
