A highly regarded law firm in Merseyside is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Litigation to lead their commercial and civil litigation department in Southport. This is a prestigious role offering an excellent opportunity for a seasoned litigation professional to manage a broad spectrum of legal disputes and advance within a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the litigation department, managing a diverse caseload including property litigation, commercial disputes, estate disputes (contentious probate), and general civil litigation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of litigators, providing guidance and ensuring high-quality legal services.
  • Handle complex cases from inception to resolution, including court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to grow the department and enhance service delivery.
  • Foster strong client relationships and ensure client satisfaction through effective communication and legal expertise.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will have c. 5 years PQE in litigation, with extensive experience in commercial and civil litigation.
  • Proven track record in managing a litigation team or department.
  • Expertise in handling a full range of litigation matters, including property, commercial disputes, and contentious probate.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high-stakes cases effectively.
