REED/LTA are seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Southport. The role will be starting after half term on the 24th of February. This full-time role involves working one-on-one with a Year 2 child, providing tailored support and ensuring their educational and developmental needs are met. Candidates with SEN (Special Educational Needs) experience are highly encouraged to apply.

The role is full time Monday to Friday with the timings being 8:45am to 3:15pm 

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide one-on-one support to a Year 2 child, focusing on their individual learning and development needs.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of activities that cater to the specific requirements of the child.
  • Monitor and support the child’s progress and development, adapting techniques as needed to suit their learning style.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other educational staff to implement effective teaching strategies and behavioural management.
  • Maintain accurate records of the child’s progress and any challenges they encounter.
  • Ensure a safe, nurturing environment that promotes positive learning experiences.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold a Level 2 qualification in Teaching Assistance or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in an SEN setting, with a strong understanding of the challenges and strategies involved in supporting children with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with teachers, parents, and other staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a dedicated approach to fostering a supportive learning environment.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions that benefit the child’s educational journey.
