Role Overview

As the Deputy Managing Director, you will have oversight of all functions within the college campus ensuring appropriate financial planning and structures, policies and procedures are in place to deliver the College strategy, maintaining operational awareness and mitigating risk. 

You will work closely with the MD, Principal and College Senior Management Team (SMT) to develop and implement strategies that align with the College mission and objectives, achieving appropriate KPIs, ensuring high retention, completion and continuation rates while adhering to regulatory standards. 

You will have oversight in ALL areas, to ensure that the College is aspiring to achieve the required B3 Metrics as required by OFS. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, strategic vision, and a proven track record in managing educational institutions or similar organizations.

Qualifications/Education 
•    Educated to degree level – Essential 
•    5 years of management in ELT or other industry related to education: vocational or tertiary education –

Essential
•    Evidence of continuing professional development – Essential
•    Degree/Professional Qualification in Management/Education – Desirable 

Knowledge & Skills Essential Desirable
•    Sound knowledge of the UK ELT sector and current issues affecting it
•    Highly developed interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills
•    Proven ability to initiate, lead and implement growth strategies and tactics which have made a significant contribution to sustainable business growth ― preferably in an educational environment
•    Ability to develop and prepare comprehensive financial/business analyses
•    Knowledge of budget preparation, cost estimating, monitoring, and financial management principles and procedures
•    Familiarity with all business functions including HR, Finance, IT systems
•    Good knowledge and understanding of staff development, well-being and performance management strategies, business practices and procedures
•    Understanding of funding methodologies and budget building and control
•    Effective communication and influencing, skills, including the ability to liaise at a senior level and develop and maintain effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders
•    Ability to manage complex relationships to achieve successful outcomes for learners
•    Commitment to delivering a quality provision in a range of environments and achieving performance and service improvements
•    Work flexibly to fulfil the requirements of the role

Experience 
•    Extensive managerial experience, preferably in Higher Education
•    Substantial experience of successfully embedding and managing operations in an educational environment
•    Experience of dealing successfully with quality assurance and accreditation bodies
•    Evidence of effective performance management of staff and resources, including developing and leading high performing teams
•    Experience in the leadership, management and delivery of education and training provision to learners
•    Experience of successfully implementing staff appraisal and observation of teaching to support and enhance staff performance
