GBR Recruitment, are delighted to be working exclusively with a highly progressive steel fabrication, civils & general turnkey construction business, recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team, supporting tender bids & calculating true costings for all contracts / projects delivery (costings for labour, materials & plant machinery hire).

This people centric employer is seeking a time-served Estimating professional who has ideally had exposure to steel installations & fabrication or civils & groundwork's, M&E solutions or general turnkey construction project delivery.

Estimator Duties:

  • Collating costs & negotiating / issuing tender submissions
  • Reviewing all technical drawings & scope of works details in order to successfully allocate labour, plant and materials costings for site works.
  • Utilise the supply chain structure to select the most suitable suppliers & defining the projects cost parameters, using the project build / works & location information.
  • Ensure project contract terms & conditions cover liability for all commercial risks.
  • Collate tenders & variations for review & submission to the client.
  • Professional client liaison, ensuring all information is shared with the correct project team, to ensure a successful project delivery.
  • Effectively liaise with internal build team to ensure site construction delivery is carried out in an efficient & commercially advantageous manner, working to set budgets / costings, plus agreed margins.
  • Assist wider commercial team in producing site valuations

Estimator Experience:

  • Knowledge of steel fabrication & installation, civils / groundwork's, M&E service, plus general turnkey construction works (exposure to all of these or some of these).
  • Used to pricing works for a varied value of contract £50K - £1M+
  • Costing or Estimating NVQ Level 3, Construction HNC or similar qualification or time-served QBE.
  • Construction site experience would be preferable, isn't essential.
  • Experience with costings / estimating software, CRM systems, Microsoft Office suite of applications (Excel, Word etc..).

This role could suit an individual working as an Estimating Coordinator, Estimating Manager, Civil Engineering Estimator, Building Estimator, Costings Estimator, Project Estimator, Steels Estimator or similar job titles with Estimating responsibility.
