A hope that brings transformation and new life, healing and wholeness. .Could you bring your financial expertise to support our local groups and departments with clear financial reporting and strategic insights?Where will you be working?Our charity covers the city of Nottingham, the county of Nottinghamshire and small parts of South Yorkshire. We serve over a million people through a network of around 300 community centres across the region, as well as 73 schools.Our organisation is the registered charity and company limited by guarantee through which the financial affairs are conducted centrally. The Finance team plays a crucial role in supporting both the central operations and our network of local groups.Hybrid / flexible working is available, but with an anticipation that the majority of the working week would be onsite in our centrally located and scenic offices with free onsite parking.What will you be doing?Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts for department heads, reconciling trial balance accounts, and producing financial reports that inform strategic decision-making. You'll prepare year-end papers for external auditors and manage trust account reconciliations.Your role will include monitoring cash flow, maintaining the Fixed Asset Register, reviewing payroll, and preparing VAT returns. You'll also handle investment reporting and support local groups with their financial queries.As a leader within the finance team, you'll supervise two Finance Officers and work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure robust financial processes.What will you need to offer?We are looking for someone with strong accounting knowledge and experience in producing management accounts and financial analysis. You should have excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to communicate financial information clearly as well as strong excel skills including pivots, lookups, SUMIFs etc.You'll be a technically strong accountant and will be fully or part qualified, or qualified by experience.You'll be supporting, managing and developing a team of 2 finance officers so experience of management would be very helpful.Experience with computerised accounting systems and knowledge of charity finance regulations is essential including working with restricted and unrestricted funds. Familiarity with trust accounting and VAT would be advantageous.Our charity is founded on strong values.
