We have a juicy 12 month fixed term contract for a HR Assistant to cover maternity leave.  Working with one of my favourite HR teams, you will step in as a HR Administrator/Assistant to be the site contact for all initial people queries in Southwell (5 days onsite).  Supporting a busy manufacturing business means that no day is ever the same and on a regular basis you will face a query you haven't had before - that is the fun part.  Working in a very forward thinking HR team, you will report in to the HR Advisor and have exposure across the full employee lifecycle.  There is lots of HR Administration to be done, but you will also be exposed to projects such as benchmarking, wellbeing campaigns, looking after the eyecare voucher process as well as getting involved and setting up interviews and managing some of the recruitment, exit interviews, taking responsibility for sickness and absence and so on.  This role will require somebody to work at pace and have great attention to detail and accuracy due to the nature of the paperwork you will be responsible for.  We are looking for somebody that is confident in their own ability and doesn't shy away from finding answers for questions you may not have the answers for.  You will really thrive in this role if you have a great way with people and build relationships across the business, my client have a lovely culture and working environment, lots of long standing employees and they are pretty progressive too.What you will be doing:
  • You will be involved in all aspects of the employee lifecycle (from recruitment and onboarding through to offboarding).
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process by guiding and providing the line managers with the tools and processes needed. This may include supporting them with the selection criteria, interview questions and tasks as well as facilitating site tours/interviews/recruitment tests.
  • Work alongside the HR Advisor/Manager on the recruitment and selection requirements to source relevant providers and liaise with said providers.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of employment with agencies for employees.
  • Deliver the onboarding process and cascade relevant documentation to stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and guidance on the Company’s procedures and policies.
  • Build effective relationships with employees, at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding to ensure effective communication of good HR practices.
  • Support the HR Advisor/Manager in monitoring, reviewing, and updating HR policies and procedures in line with changes to legislation whilst considering good practice and a fit for purpose approach.
  • Support the HR Advisor/Manager to apply HR knowledge evidencing appropriate sources and solutions enabling SMT decision-making. 
  • Support the Employee Assistance Program and the Wellbeing Strategy in line with the values of the Company.
  • Support the HR Advisor/Manager to deliver the reward strategy in line with the Employee Lifecycle.
  • Work within HR and cross functionally to design and implement continuous improvement ideas.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives.
  • Manage short-term and long-term sickness in line with Company policy by monitoring trends and remedial action and to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management.
  • Process and manage absence requests such as holidays and hospital appointments.
  • Create and maintain HR records in line with relevant legislation.
