Toolmaker | £37,200 - £19.07 per hour | Southwell- Day/night shifts on a 2-week rota- 37.5 hrs/week- Mon – Thurs = 8.5 hrs (unpaid ½ hr lunch); Fri = 5.5 hrs (no lunch)- Night shift: 3 x 10 hrs Mon-Weds; 1x7.5hrs ThursBenefits:- 25 holiday days plus bank holidays- Discretionary annual bonus (based on company performance)- Pension scheme (5% employer contribution)- Death-in-service payment (4x salary)- Employee assistance programme (including free counselling, GP appointments, cost reimbursement for dental, optical, physio etc)What we're looking for:- Time-served traditional Toolmaker- Previous experience of tool room equipment: milling, lathe and surface grinders- Motivated working alone and a part of a busy team- Good communication skills (written and verbal)- Strong work ethic- Positive ‘will do’ attitude- Enthusiasm and desire to learn- Able to work with stakeholders/customers appropriate to the role- Good timekeeping and attendanceThe finer elements of the role include:- Operate tool room equipment consisting of milling machines, lathe & surface grinders competently- Produce components to engineering drawings to a high level- Identify improvements and manufacturing methods within the department to increase efficiency and output- Maintain works order paperwork and booking through Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system- Follow the Company’s safety culture policy Think, Plan, Take Your Time & Always intervene- Suggest and assist with improvement recommendations for the department or Company- Report any hazards or near misses using iAuditor- Always represent and promote our Company and our values in a positive light in line with Company policies- Perform any other duties as reasonably required by your manager or a Director- Attend training to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skillsCherry Professional are recruiting for this opportunity on behalf of our client.
