Safeguarding Administrator

Reed are collaborating with a client who are seeking a dedicated Safeguarding Administrator to provide essential administrative support within their Safeguarding Team. This role involves handling highly confidential and sensitive information and requires someone with a strong administrative background, excellent organisational skills, and a deep commitment to safeguarding principles.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Administer the DBS system, ensuring accurate data collection and storage.
- Serve as a central point of contact for the Safeguarding Team, managing enquiries, emails, messages, and postal communications.
- Arrange meetings, manage bookings, and assist in the preparation and distribution of documents and training materials.
- Maintain and develop office systems to ensure effective functioning and information retrieval, including producing statistical reports as required.
- Support licensed individuals with DBS applications and renewals and provide guidance on general DBS queries.
- Minute Safeguarding Planning Meetings and other relevant sessions as directed.
- Assist in the production and distribution of a quarterly Safeguarding Newsletter.
- Support the Training Manager in maintaining records of training sessions and preparing reports.
- Provide internal hospitality and manage external bookings for various team members.
- Contribute to the overall administration of services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths.
- Proven administrative experience and organisational skills.
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet use.
- Skills in audio typing and minute taking.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Resilient, empathetic, and able to handle the impact of safeguarding matters.
Desirable:
- Qualification in shorthand/Minute Taking (Level 3 CDP).
- Experience in a safeguarding setting and direct contact with service users.
- Experience processing DBS applications online and managing e-based booking systems.
- Completed recognised multi-agency safeguarding training (level 1).
- Experience in a statutory agency involved in safeguarding.
