Job Overview:We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations in our clients chilled warehouse located in Spalding. The role involves leading a cross-generational workforce in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that shift goals are met, and that health and safety standards are maintained.

The ideal candidate will be confident in managing a diverse team, possess a valid PPT (Powered Pallet Truck) licence, and have a proven track record of running efficient and productive shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shift Management: Lead and manage warehouse staff during 12-hour shifts (6am-6pm), maintaining operational flow and productivity in line with business targets.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise a diverse, cross-generational workforce, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and motivation across the team.
  • PPT Operations: Confidently operate and oversee the use of Powered Pallet Trucks (PPT) in daily warehouse tasks.
  • Stock Management: Ensure the accurate and timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, while maintaining stock integrity and meeting customer delivery expectations.
  • Health & Safety: Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations, conducting regular checks, and addressing any risks or hazards promptly.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on KPIs, ensuring that all team members meet their individual and collective targets.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly and effectively address any operational issues or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to shift activities.
  • Training & Development: Provide coaching, support, and training to team members, identifying development needs and encouraging a positive work culture.
  • Communication: Act as the key point of contact between warehouse operatives and senior management, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Warehouse Supervisor or in a similar leadership role.
  • Valid PPT Licence and strong experience in operating pallet trucks.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a cross-generational team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, including stock control and health & safety regulations.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems efficiently.
  • Competency with warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous.

Working Conditions:

  • Working in a chilled environment (cold storage).
  • 12-hour shifts, 4 days on, 4 days off (6am to 6pm).
  • Physical role requiring manual handling and the use of warehouse equipment.
