Our client is currently recruiting for a Deputy Works Manager to join the Manufacturing Team and maintain their exacting standards.

For over 35 years, the company have been designing, manufacturing and installing a range of prefabricated steel maintenance pits for the commercial vehicle, PSV and Railway industries across the UK and internationally, with clientele including major blue-chip companies. Additionally, they also manufacture bespoke steel substructures for various below ground applications, from gym landing pits to bases for large industrial machines, as well as vegetable harvesting systems and trailers for their VHS arm of the business.

The Role

The successful candidate will initially be required to assist the current Workshop Manager with the day to day running of the fabrication workshop. This will include reading engineering drawings, procurement of materials, staff-management, problem solving, costings and quoting.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Supervisory/management experience in operating a busy fabrication workshop
  • Driving licence (own vehicle essential)
  • CSCS (training will be given)
  • Working Knowledge of computer programmes (Windows based)
  • Procurement of materials
  • Health & Safety experience
