Payroll Manager | North Wales | Up to 45k | Hybrid | Study Support if required

This is an excellent opportunity for a Payroll Manager within an accountancy/bureau/umbrella firm who is looking to join a well-established and reputable firm of chartered accountants based in North Wales.

As a Payroll Manager, you will be supporting a portfolio of your own clients, whilst managing a highly professional and motivated small team of Payroll Administrators. A friendly and professional working environment is on offer, together with a competitive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Monitoring changes in payroll tax legislation and reporting requirements and advising on those changes and the potential impact on the Group.
  • Reviewing and acting upon all customer feedback; acting as a primary point of escalation for the client and making/executing recommendations for improvement.
  • Owning and taking responsibility for the client journey, always ensuring service excellence.
  • Undertaking manual calculations of payroll taxes and NI when necessary.
  • Managing various pension schemes.
  • Overseeing recruitment, training, and supervision of payroll team, and provide training.
  • Coordinating workload distribution and enforce deadlines to meet operational goals.
  • Conducting performance evaluations, offering feedback to enhance team performance.
Key Skills:
  • Previous experience in delivering fully managed payroll services.
  • Proven ability in building and managing a highly motivated team.
  • Excellent ability in building positive customer relationships.
  • Great coaching and mentoring skills.
  • A thorough understanding of payroll regulations, taxes and PAYE procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening to accurately answer queries.
  • Skilled at identifying potential payroll discrepancies and addressing them proactively.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to provide excellent customer service to clients.
  • Understanding of software implementation.
