About the Role:

Setsquare is looking for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor with a specialization in Civils and Groundworks to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to civil engineering and groundwork projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will ensure that our projects are completed within budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for civils and groundworks projects.
  • Conduct cost analysis and manage procurement processes, including subcontractor and supplier negotiations.
  • Monitor project progress and provide accurate financial forecasting.
  • Assess and mitigate risks, ensuring effective cost control and contract management.
  • Prepare and submit tender documents, bills of quantities, and valuations.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams to ensure all financial aspects are aligned with project goals.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications and budgets.
  • Manage and resolve any contractual disputes or issues that may arise.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a focus on Civils and Groundworks.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management techniques.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to manage complex financial data.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard software and tools.
