Our busy manufacturing company based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire are looking for a Design Cad Engineeron a permanent basis.

The Design CAD Engineerwill undertake many aspects of design work from product design of components to detailed mechanical tooling stations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties for the CAD Engineer:

• 3D CAD modelling and 2D Draughting using SolidWorks.
• Producing, reviewing, and amending engineering drawings.
• Detail component design.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Preparing concept designs for new products.
• Applying manufacturing and quality specifications and assigning notes.
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team.
• Checking applicability of manufacturing and quality specifications.
• Document management and architecture layout.
• Entering part BOMs and routings into the ERP system.
• Assisting with cost estimating.
• Other general duties as reasonably required.

Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience for the CAD Engineer:

• A background of CAD Design including 3D product modelling and 2D draughting.
• Good experience with CAD packages, SolidWorks essential.
• Attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes.
• Proactive attitude and ability to communicate and report with a good level of verbal and written English.
• Ability to work well in a team and individually.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately to follow client needs.
• Detail design experience beneficial but not essential.

Hours of work for the CAD Engineer:

• Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm
