Management Accountant

Location: AL1 3JE
Start Date: ASAP

We are looking for a highly skilled and AAT-qualified Management Accountant to join a Local Authority team and contribute to the financial success of services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards.
  • Assist in year-end tasks, ensuring all financial activities are completed in line with company timelines.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to management by interpreting customer inquiries and delivering relevant financial improvements.
  • Utilise Excel to its full potential, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and pivot tables, to analyse and present financial data.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure that financial data is accurate and supports business objectives.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • AAT Qualified with proven experience in management accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills, including expertise in VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and Pivot Tables.
  • Solid experience in balance sheet reconciliations and year-end tasks.
  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Word and other MS Office products.
  • A customer-focused approach, with the ability to interpret questions and deliver meaningful financial insights.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
