Keep reading - this could be the ideal next step for you!An established construction company based north of Watford just outside the M25, recognised for its expertise in groundworks, reinforced concrete frames, civil engineering, and demolition is looking to take on a dynamic Senior Estimator. As the Senior Estimator you will be expected to:

  • Review and analyse project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to generate thorough cost estimates.
  • Create comprehensive cost estimates for all phases of construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Recognise potential risks and challenges within the project and factor them into the cost estimation process.
  • Keep comprehensive records of estimates, contracts, and other relevant documents for future reference and accountability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market shifts, and competitor pricing to ensure our estimates remain competitive and up-to-date.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and tenders, adhering to company standards and meeting client specifications.
  • Suggest cost-saving strategies and value engineering options that maintain high quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to gather necessary information for precise cost estimations.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure the company receives the best possible value.
  • Track and manage project budgets, providing regular updates to ensure projects stay within financial limits.

What the ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
  • Ability to show previous experience gained in working on infrastructure projects
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • A full UK driving license
