We're seeking a dynamic Site Supervisorto support in overseeing various arboriculture projects based at St Albans and surrounding areas. Your expertise will be instrumental in propelling our projects forward, making previous arboriculture experience essential.

An active and challenging role that requires an exceptionally organised and proactive individual to manage a significant package of works, have excellent client management skills, be a proficient communicator, and be willing to learn new skills. Further training and development will be tailored to the needs of the successful applicant.

This is a field-based role where you are out on site or working from home. You must be prepared to travel across the region.

Who are we looking for?

This is a great opportunity for a strong Arb Supervisor looking for a move into rail. The candidate will ideally have had some, but not necessarily all, of the following.

  • Relevant supervision and operational experience or equivalent relevant practical experience.
  • Solid experience of managing a work group.
  • Previous experience in the rail industry
  • Experienced in effectively leading teams
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Knowledge and strong commercial acumen

What you will achieve:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols through regular audits and inspections on-site.
  • Maintain agility in managing fluctuating workloads while providing guidance and support to field-based teams, enhancing cohesion and productivity.
  • Develop task briefs, aligning them with project objectives. Engage with clients to address concerns and maintain satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with managers planning possessions to minimize disruptions and maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee seamless task execution, promptly addressing any issues to ensure project continuity and quality.

Who we are looking for:

To be successful in this role you will need previous arb experience, preferably in the rail industry, as well as the following:

  • Proficiency in managing dynamic workloads and adapting to changing circumstances.
  • Adeptness in working swiftly and decisively, even in uncertain environments.
  • Strong reactive leadership skills, capable of swift and effective decision-making.
  • Flexibility to travel, including ad hoc weekend work.
  • Certifications including PTS (Personal Track Safety).
  • You must have a valid driving license.
  • We are particularly welcoming applications from existing Site Supervisors possessing SSSTS, IOSH, NEBOSH, First Aid plus F and COSS.
