Audit Manager - About The Role
As an Audit Manager, you will play a key role in leading audit engagements, managing a diverse portfolio of clients, and developing the firm’s growing team. This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of audit assignments from planning to completion, while also mentoring and supporting junior staff.
Responsibilities will include:
- Manage and lead audits, ensuring efficient planning, execution, and completion
- Act as the main client contact, maintaining strong relationships and providing commercially focused advice
- Supervise and mentor audit teams, offering training, feedback, and career development support
- Review audit files for quality and technical accuracy, ensuring compliance with UK auditing and accounting standards
- Identify opportunities for business development and assist in client pitches
- Drive efficiency and best practices within the audit function while upholding the firm’s commitment to excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
The successful Audit Manager will have/be:
- ACA or ACCA qualification (or equivalent)
- Proven experience managing a portfolio of audit clients
- Strong leadership skills, with experience supervising and mentoring audit teams
- Extensive knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards, including UK GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS
- Experience leading audits from planning to completion, including group audits
- Commercial awareness and the ability to provide strategic, client-focused advice
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
