Audit Supervisor - Audit, Accounts & AdviceTop 15 Firm, St Albans Up to £57,000!!

You will be part of a tight-knit team, working directly with partners and directors, providing client focused and commercially aware services in an efficient and professional manner.

This role includes:

  • Involvement in planning, supervising, and carrying out full end-to-end audits
  • Responsibility for achieving agreed budgets and meeting deadlines
  • Setting objectives for more junior staff and supervise on site, reviewing their work and coaching on the job where necessary to enable them to develop and progress.

You will be assigned a partner/director mentor to help you work on your personal career development with progression opportunities available at all levels. Your role will be audit focused while getting exposure to wider business advisory work as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for auditing of companies, including planning, and finalisation of jobs across a wide range of industries.
  • Able to be present on-site for audits when required
  • Supervision of the audit team, which includes reviewing the work of juniors and assisting junior team members with technical accounting and audit questions.
  • Drafting recommendations to management following audit fieldwork completion.
  • Drafting of close out audit meeting agenda and points for discussion.
  • Preparation of tax computations and Corporation Tax returns (CT600) with the support from the tax specialist team, as required.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts of companies, and consolidated accounts of groups together with tax computations
  • Close liaison with clients, and other stakeholders, often direct contact at Partner and Director Levels.
  • Motivation and encouragement of team.
  • Promoting the interests of the firm with all employed by the firm, clients, prospective clients and other third parties.
  • Generally to provide a personal, professional, speedy and efficient service to the firm's clients.
  • Any other special work as required e.g. benchmarking reports, management information reviews & proposal pitches.
  • Assisting with internal training courses
  • Working alongside current office management to assist and supervise junior team members.

Practice Development:

  • To attend client gatherings or client seminars on an ad hoc basis.
  • Identifying business development opportunities with clients and progressing these in liaison with Partner/Director.
  • Internal networking to get to know your team & the wider firm including specialist services

Administration:

  • Using initiative to come up with innovative ideas to improve systems currently in practice with regards to client or staff matters.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
  • Qualified to ACA/ACCA or internationally recognised chartered accounting qualification
  • Experience leading audits teams including group audits
  • Must have completed 3 audits in the last year with a turnover of £20m+.
  • Technically competent, including solid experience and understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards
  • Experience in both substantive & controls-based audits. ·
  • Expertise in delivery of the primary accounting frameworks.
  • High level of personal motivation.
  • Excellent communicator- able to get on with clients and motivate teams
  • Strong organisational skills - ability to get multi-task and prioritise work
  • Personable and confident - clients should feel confident of their ability to relate with you
  • Ability to meet deadlines
