Job description:

Premier Foods are offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Support Specialist to work at our fast paced and energetic St Albans office. The role is hands-on with a variety of interaction with senior to leadership level stakeholders who are based at site, supporting local project initiatives with some 2nd line support activity (shared with the Group Central Technical Support team who are not based at this site) and localised 3rd line support.  All support is to be driven from our ITSM Platform, which you should be familiar with and carried out in accordance with Group Central IT processes, procedures and strategic direction. 

The position is based out of our St Albans office but does have a degree of hybrid capability.  Every Friday you can work from home, given there is no requirement planned in by site and there is opportunity to flex across other days depending on the scenario.

The Role…

You will be the primary IT contact at this site and carry confidence and capability to drive a successful IT presence in all that you do, working with and being supported by IT Support, Specialist, Security and Architectural colleagues who work for the Group Central IT function and not physically based at St Albans. 

The St Albans site is the Corporate Head Office with range of exciting local technology from modern Zoom Room and integrated Audio-Visual solutions, Aurba WiFi, Brivo mobile door access system, Zoom Workspaces for desk reservations, Envoy Room booking system, SD-WAN all heading out to an AWS public cloud architecture and running Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration.

Key requirements…

The successful candidate will have a proven history of delivering technical support across a wide range of technologies, working collaboratively with large-scale 3rd parties and remote interaction with other IT colleagues.  You will engage a range of tasks from resolving desk-based incidents, requests and problem records to acting as a lead for any projects at site to getting hands on with some of the fantastic technology in operation.   You will be the ‘go to person’ at site for all things IT, so you must be comfortable with working without your IT colleagues and management being physically at site.
