We are recruiting for an Accounts Administrator to join a friendly, fast-paced, and well-established company based on the outskirts of St Albans.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Administrator to manage and maintain financial records and support day-to-day accounting operations. The ideal candidate will ensure the accurate processing of transactions, maintain financial compliance, and contribute to the smooth running of the finance department.

Key responsibilities:

·         Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, and payments.

·         Reconcile bank statements and address any discrepancies in a timely manner.

·         Manage accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.

·         Prepare and send updated debtors lists to senior managers for review on a weekly basis.

·         Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any inconsistencies effectively.

·         Ensured compliance with CIS by verifying subcontractor details, calculating deductions.

·         Update internal spreadsheets for debtors and fuel expenses, allocating fuel costs to the appropriate departments.

·         Perform credit card analysis and post transactions to the ledger accurately.

·         Maintain a clear and organized inbox, addressing and resolving all queries daily.

·         Handle utility bills, penalty charge notices (PCNs), and any related inquiries efficiently.

·         Assist with external audit, providing necessary documentation and information.

·         Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required such as PO’s.

What the employer is looking for:

·         Proven experience in an accounts administration role or similar

·         AAT desirable

·         Familiarity with accounting Software (e.g., Xero) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel

·         Strong numerical and analytical skills

·         Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

·         Excellent organisational and time management

·         Strong interpersonal skills

·         Good written and verbal communication skills
