Junior Transport Planning Coordinator

Job Role:

  • Review outstanding orders on the transport management system.
  • Plan daily vehicle movements, consolidating orders where possible to increase vehicle fill and reduce empty mileage.
  • Ensure that all vehicle movements are planned to use the most cost-effective routes to optimize costs.
  • Organise Hauliers/DC transport to meet these schedules.
  • Arrange collection/delivery times & obtain booking references as required.
  • Ensure all details are entered into the transport management system.
  • Produce, complete, and distribute daily Trunk Schedule.
  • Produce and complete STI Delivery Schedule.
  • HELPDESK - Efficiently manage Helpdesk calls at weekends in a timely manner to ensure minimum escalations.
  • Manage daily issues and escalate if appropriate.
  • Assist the team with other duties where necessary and any additional tasks allocated by the Operations Team Leader.
  • Ensure that all jobs have the right customer code assigned, all jobs are rated, all delays and exceptions are recorded in TMS.
  • Provide quality operational data & KPI’s.
  • Support the Operations Team in with other relevant duties when required.

Requirements:

  • Must have a full UK driver license.
  • Good Knowledge of IT systems
  • Be willing to work in a face paced environment.
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Very good team player
