Seeking a dedicated Supply Chain & Operations Manager to help shape the future of supply chain and operations.
Role Overview
The Supply Chain & Operations Manager will take full ownership of supply chain and procurement operations. These responsibilities have previously been managed collaboratively within a small team, but with rapid business growth, an experienced professional is needed to lead, optimise, and expand these functions. This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless flow of goods from suppliers to customers, improving efficiency, controlling costs, and driving sustainable practices.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain & Procurement Management
- Source and procure raw materials and packaging, including pouches, cartons (e.g., SRP/outer cases), and bottles.
- Manage relationships with co-packers, ensuring efficient and reliable manufacturing processes.
- Oversee all logistics operations, including warehousing, packing, and delivery.
- Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliers, co-packers, logistics partners, and freight companies.
- Implement and manage supplier and vendor contracts, ensuring performance monitoring and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and execute risk management and mitigation strategies.
- Establish and maintain an IT solution to manage demand and supply planning effectively.
Operational Efficiency & Strategy
- Plan and forecast to meet sales demands across DTC, Amazon, and retail channels.
- Track goods from origin to warehouse, ensuring on-time, in-full delivery.
- Review and update supply chain and procurement policies to align with company standards, legal requirements, and sustainability objectives.
- Identify and implement strategies to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and mitigate risks, ensuring the business is future proofed for fast growth across all areas.
Collaboration & Performance Improvement
- Liaise with sales and marketing teams to understand and meet product and service needs.
- Analyse supply chain data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Create and drive performance metrics to deliver business results and continuous improvement.
- Ensure sustainability objectives underpin all procurement and supply chain strategies.
- Work with NPD to support new product launches and trials in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience in supply chain and procurement management within an FMCG environment, ideally in a food-based business.
- Proven experience working with DTC channels and major UK retail outlets.
- Expertise in sustainability-focused supply chain practices.
- Financial acumen with strong numerical skills.
- Proficiency in supplier and third-party management software.
