Join a leading company with a strong presence in the construction sector as an Accounts Assistant. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Answer telephone inquiries and handle accounts queries.
  • Set up new suppliers and subcontractors in the system, coordinating with the Quantity Surveyor on CIS statuses.
  • Process supplier invoices and delivery notes, providing feedback on any issues to buyers.
  • Prepare supplier cheques for the Managing Director’s signature.
  • Manage subcontractor invoices, including stamping, scanning, and passing them to Quantity Surveyors.
  • Handle payments to subcontractors (BACS & Cheques) and ensure their insurance details are up-to-date.
  • Enter plant transfers into the Eque2 Construction software and manage vehicle servicing, tax, and insurance.
  • Produce and follow up on rebate schedules and invoices for both companies.
  • Manage council taxes, utility bills, and ensure timely renewals.
  • Input all timesheets and process group invoices.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and update rent cards for the property management division.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations for SPVs and manage council taxes for all developments.
  • Adhere to the Accounts Task Timetable and perform daily backups on Sage Line 50.
  • Log incoming post and ensure data accuracy.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Excellent IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word, Sage Line 50, and Sage Construct.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounts role.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • High level of confidentiality due to sensitive information access.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player with excellent attention to detail and self-verification of work accuracy.
