In this pivotal role as a Data Protection Officer, you will lead our efforts to ensure compliance with privacy and data protection regulations. You'll be instrumental in setting Information Governance standards, providing privacy by design support, and overseeing the secure handling of personal and public data. Your expertise will shape our approach to information security and ethical data use.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Inform and advise the company and its employees about their obligations under data protection laws, including freedom of information and subject access requests.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and individuals whose data is processed.
  • Develop and maintain the governance of the Service’s information assets, manage the information asset register, and understand information flows.
  • Act as the responsible officer for all Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations requests, ensuring timely responses.
  • Handle FOI-related complaints and act as the liaison with the ICO during appeals.

If you have proven experience in a similar role as a Data Protection Officer, a strong understanding of data protection laws, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage information assets and FOI requests, we want to hear from you!
