We are seeking a detail-focused and proactive Assistant Accountant to support our finance team. This role offers exposure to a variety of financial processes, providing key insights that drive business decisions while ensuring accurate reporting and compliance.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial reports for multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and clear presentation for stakeholders.
  • Monitor operational costs and workforce expenses, working closely with internal teams to track and explain variances.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies.
  • Manage VAT calculations and returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register, overseeing depreciation calculations.
  • Reconcile intercompany balances, ensuring accurate reporting across group entities.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of financial declarations to external partners.
  • Provide payroll cover during absences, supporting both weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
  • Support senior management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
  • Assist with audit preparations, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order.
  • Step in to support other areas of the finance function, such as Accounts Payable and Receivable, when required.
What We're Looking For:
  • AAT Part/Fully Qualified (or equivalent experience).
  • Background in a finance or accounting role with experience in financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with key financial statements and their business impact.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, IF statements).
  • Experience working with finance software such as Sage, QuickBooks, or similar.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy.
