Company Bookkeeper - St. Austell - £30-32,000

Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively reengaged by a long standing client, a long established and highly regarded specialist manufacturing business with a reputation for high quality production and innovative technology. The business has strong routes in Cornwall and is widely considered to be a premium employer in the area, demonstrated by excellent employee retention and development. The company now seeks to recruit a Company Bookkeeper to head up the finance function of a key entity within their group structure. This is a permanent, full time role that works between 0800-1700 Monday Thursday with a 1200 finish each Friday. There may be some flexibility where working patterns are concerned to suit the successful candidate.

This will be a broad and interesting role that focusses on all areas of the end-to-end accounting function and financial health of the business. Key responsibilities to include:

- End-to-end bookkeeping

- Preparation of monthly management information to include accruals, prepayments, depreciation reports and variance analysis

- Management of the accounts receivable function including aged debtor management

- All aspects of accounts payable to include supplier payment runs and acting as a first point of contact for supplier queries

- Bank and ledger reconciliations

- Highlight area and ideas for improved financial performance

- Work closely alongside the directors on projects as well as day to day operations

- Assist with statutory account procedures

- VAT reporting

- Monthly payroll administration

- Work closely with and provide financial commentary to the senior management team

For this role we seek an experienced Company Accountant, Bookkeeper or Finance Manager, or perhaps an ambitious Assistant Accountant with a desire to progress. Candidate’s may be either AAT, part/fully professionally qualified or with relevant vocational experience but must have experience gained in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a busy finance department. Previous experience gained in a manufacturing environment would be advantageous but not essential. Good all round IT experience, particularly using MS Excel and general Office products. The role works closely alongside a highly passionate and energetic board team, as well as multiple external stakeholders which the successful candidate will play a key role in communicating and developing strong working relationships with.
