The Assistant Accountant position is located in the St Helens office and offers a salary of up to £30,000 along with study support.
This newly created role is a result of company growth due to recent acquisitions and provides significant exposure while working closely with the Finance Manager.
Candidates are not required to have experience in all duties, but should have some exposure and a strong desire to learn.
Key responsibilities include overseeing purchase and sales ledger functions, assisting with monthly accounts, and managing VAT returns and bank reconciliations.
Applicants should have some relevant experience, a strong transactional background, and ideally be AAT qualified or studying CIMA/ACCA.

Accountable recruitment are currently supporting a client based in the St Helens area as they recruit a newly created Assistant Accountant role to join their team. This role is due to growth following recent acquisitions and offers plenty of exposure, working closely with the Finance Manager.

Assistant Accountant

23 days AL - increasing with service

Study Support available

Key duties:

Overseeing Purchase and Sales ledger functions
Assist with the production of the monthly accounts and forecasts
Posting of journals (accruals, prepayments)
VAT returns
Management of Fixed Asset register
Bank reconciliations
Cash flow forecasting

Experience Required:

Exposure to some of the above duties
Ambitious to grow and learn
Strong transactional background
Month end awareness
Ideally AAT qualified / studying CIMA/ACCA
