Located halfway between Liverpool and Manchester, our client is a 4-star hotel in the Saint Helens area of Merseyside, with excellent public transport and motorway links meaning its easily accessible for both drivers and non-drivers alike.
If you're looking for a role where you are kept busy, then look no further! This hotel is busy all week with a mixture of both business and leisure guests, due to its ideal location and facilities. Monday to Wednesday, their business is more conference orientated which occupies the hotel's C&B rooms and can cater for up to 400 covers at any one time. At dinnertime, they are busy with their bar/grill menu, which caters for an average of 100-150 covers and offers diners a variety of dishes including burgers and steaks.
As the week goes on, trade turns more function and leisure-orientated as the hotel is close to the local racecourse, is a short drive to Liverpool City Centre as well as the nearby football stadiums in Liverpool and Manchester. The 90-seater main restaurant can easily be turned around of a night-time and the lounge/bar area can also see another 120 covers, so you can certainly expect to be kept on your toes!

What's involved?
As the Head Chef, you will have a positive 'can do' attitude and be an excellent motivator to lead and develop your kitchen team. You will be responsible for the hiring, training, developing, and leading of your team.
You will have a hands-on approach; getting involved in the day-to-day catering operation, as well as managing department operations including controlling a budget and keeping accurate records, forecasting, ordering online, managing health and safety procedures, resource planning, and waste management. With this in mind, you should be an organised individual with excellent planning skills and the ability to multi-task.
You will be responsible for creating mouthwatering menus that adhere to company brand standards whilst tickling the guest's taste buds at the same time!
The successful Head Chef will be experienced in catering for large C&B numbers and have extensive allergen and HACCP knowledge.
