Our client, a well-established and reputable law firm in St Helens, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Family Law Legal Admin Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, in-office role that will involve supporting the family law team in providing efficient and professional administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative assistance to family law solicitors and paralegals, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
- Handle audio typing of legal documents, correspondence, and reports with a high degree of accuracy.
- Organise and maintain legal files, both physical and electronic, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Assist with client communication, responding to inquiries via phone and email, and scheduling appointments.
- Prepare legal documentation, including court forms and correspondence, as required.
- Liaise with clients, courts, and other third parties to ensure the timely and effective progress of cases.
- Manage and maintain calendars, arrange meetings, and handle correspondence as necessary.
- General office duties such as filing, photocopying, and data entry.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Legal Admin Assistant, ideally within family law, or strong administrative experience in a legal or similar setting.
- Audio typing experience is essential, with the ability to transcribe dictation quickly and accurately.
- A strong understanding of general legal terminology and family law practices is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Desirable Skills (not essential, but advantageous):
- Experience in other areas of administration or legal support, such as personal injury or conveyancing.
- Familiarity with case management software.
- Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
