Job description

Science Teacher - St Helens (Jan Start)

A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a popular secondary school in St Helens, to join them teaching key stage 3 & 4 from after the Christmas break.

This position is open to ECTs as well as experienced science teachers. Please do specify if you have a specialism in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning.

Although this is a temporary position, there is a view to permanent postings depending on success.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject.

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B. Ed, QTS, etc) in science.

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference).

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference).

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training).

Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training).

Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK.

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
