Job Title: Specialist Childcare Workers
Brook Street Social Care are proud to be supporting a well known children's residential service within the North West.

This is a new residential provision focused on supporting children transitioning from a specialised secure environment. We provide a psychologically informed, therapeutic environment to help young people move from physical security to relational security, offering Residential Care, Education, and Health support.

Location: St Helens, Merseyside
Salary: £24,909 - £27,317 per annum (or pro-rata for part-time hours)
Contract: Full-Time, 39 hours per week

The Role:
We are seeking dedicated Specialist Childcare Workers to provide exceptional care to children and young people, treating them with dignity and respect. As a Specialist Childcare Worker, you will:

  • Promote good childcare practices by fostering a caring environment in line with our home's purpose and core values.
  • Deliver trauma-informed care, participating in the development of psychological formulations based on understanding trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
  • Support young people to stay safe through relationships with staff rather than physical restrictions, using models of complex relational care.
  • Prepare young people for successful adult lives by showing ambition, integrity, and compassion in your interactions.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Diploma Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or equivalent) or be willing to work towards it (funded through an accredited Apprenticeship).
  • Be optimistic, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality care.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of trauma and its impact on young people.
