Tradewind is currently recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a Primary School in Rainhill, St. Helen's to work on a 1:1 basis with a Y6 male student.

We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching assistant/Learning Mentor that can deal with challenging behaviours, significant SEMH needs, deliver specific behaviour modification interventions & provide a nurture based alternative curriculum, alongside some other bespoke providers. The role is very rewarding and based on strong relationship building.

This position starts 7th January 2025 and can lead into a long-term placement for the right person.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH or SEN (essential)
  • Strong knowledge surrounding behavioural challenges (essential)
  • Experience supporting students one-to-one (desirable)
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent (desirable)

The Essentials:

  • Hold an enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service, or be prepared to undertake a new disclosure (cost of DBS is refunded after working 20 days)
  • A full, 10-year career history and be able to provide a minimum of 2 references
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • A minimum of 2 professional references including one from your most recent employer
