We are seeking a dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting learners in achieving their individual learning plans and encouraging their independence. The position requires flexibility to work across different college centres and potentially during evenings and weekends.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Enable students to achieve their personal targets as stated in their Individual Learning Plans (ILP).
  • Encourage independence in students whenever possible, through methods such as giving choices and prompting.
  • Implement specialist support for individuals according to their Support Plan.
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Supervise students during transport and at break and lunch times to ensure their safety and well-being.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • GCSE in English & Maths, Grade C or above.
  • Educated to Level 2 or above in Teaching Assisting or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of supporting learners in an educational setting.
  • Proven experience in a support role within an educational environment, providing support for students.
  • Must be prepared to work at any of the College centres and travel between centres when necessary.
  • Willingness to work up to two evenings per week and possibly some time at weekends.
