At Saint-Gobain Industrial Ceramics, we are looking for a EHS & Sustainability Manager to join our team.
A key aspect of this role will be around behavioural change. On that basis you'd be forgiven for thinking the site isn't where it needs to be; on the contrary, our site boasts an exemplary safety record, but we are always striving to improve.
We believe that safety is not just a priority, but our number one priority. As our EHS & Sustainability Manager, you will play a crucial role in sharing this message and ensuring that our commitment to safety is upheld at all times.
This newly created role will appeal to someone who has experience of, and takes accountability for, implementing change and ways of working, as well as managing existing and introducing new ISO standards.
In short, you will likely be someone who has both the desire and the ability to positively influence and develop your colleagues with demonstrable evidence of changing attitudes and behaviours in an EHS setting.
The role is full time, based on-site in Rainford.
What we're looking for:
- Recognised EHS Qualification (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent level)
- A EHS background within manufacturing - we are open as to the manufacturing setting, but those with strict safety regulations such as Food/FMCG or automotive would be advantageous
- Experience and examples of driving behavioural change
- Knowledge of maintaining ISO standards, as well as experience introducing an ISO standard to a business
- Somebody with a methodical and structured approach, who can turn a plan into action
What you will be doing:
EHS:
- Promote a culture of safe working within the plant by championing best practice, standards, engagement, risk management, and communication.
- Guiding the Rainford plants to achieve Health, Safety & Environmental targets in line with SG Group and PCR sector strategy for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) activities
- Track and report plant EHS results, analysing KPI data, audit findings and incident /accident data to aid continual improvement.
- Conduct and participate in planned and unscheduled EHS audits on site to ensure compliance with company policy and procedure and identify best practices.
- Manage and maintain ISO14001 and 18001 systems to ensure compliance to the standards at all times, aswell as the applicable introduction of new standards
- Implement and Lead the Health and Safety, Environment and Risk Prevention pillars in line with WCM requirements for the site
Sustainability:
- Develop, implement and embed a Sustainability strategy for PCR and roadmaps to meet the key Saint-Gobain Objectives and Targets for 2030 and 2050
- Encourage employee engagement on the Rainford plant sustainability journey, to reinforce their understanding of sustainability, and to support a strong internal culture
- Limit our environmental impact through the implementation of various initiatives on site
