Job Title: Warehouse Operative /Goods In

Location: St Ives, CambridgeshireHours: 40 hours per week (with some overtime)Reports to: Warehouse and Logistics Manager

Salary & Benefits: £23,795.20 - £24,980 DOE

Contributory pension, private healthcare, life insurance (2x salary)

Additional pay for First Aid/FLT Key User

This role will also be required to work in other areas at times, assisting colleagues in a variety of tasks and ensure stock is picked, packed and despatched accurately and securely in keeping with customer quality satisfaction in mind at all times. MUST hold a Counterbalance licence.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all stock is received, logged, , unloaded, labelled and stored safely and correctly within company guidelines and processes
  • Ensure the warehouse is kept tidy and be aware of where stock is to be kept upon arrival
  • Replenishment/Rotation of stock
  • The checking of goods against the paperwork.
  • Relocation of stock
  • Organising and movement of goods to the departments that need them
  • Communicating with supervisors and other departments
  • Carry out daily stock checks and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Consider required space, taking note of when stock is due to be delivered and liaise with purchasing and goods in/out and warehouse management team
  • Ensure effective communication between the warehouse and other departments
  • Be involved with reviewing processes and being pro-active with continuous improvements
  • Stock counting
  • Accurately pick orders according to order paperwork provided by the Sales team/s
  • Ensure safe lifting of all heavy goods using the correct lifting and mechanical aids at all times
  • Ensure that goods are correctly wrapped and packaged ready for dispatch as per customer’s requirements
  • Assist/Action the unloading of deliveries and despatch
  • To ensure all stock and pallets are labelled correctly and to ensure stock is rotated using old stock first
  • Preparing the warehouse for receipt of goods from containers
  • To oversee vehicle movements in the yard,
  • To take ownership of loose equipment availability.

Personal attributes:

  • Warehouse experience preferred; strong organisational and teamwork skills
  • Physically able to handle heavy goods safely
  • Counterbalance licence is a MUST
