A leading school in East Sussex is seeking a dedicated and proactive Finance and Operations Manager to join its dynamic team.The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the school’s educational aims by overseeing financial operations, contributing to strategic decision-making, and leading the finance team to ensure financial efficiency and accountability.This role is based on site 4 days a week- The ideal candidate for this role has a Finance background and is also willing to support the Operations team across the school as required.  Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the finance function and manage a team, ensuring the efficient processing of accounts, budgets, and financial reports.
  • Work closely with the Leadership to influence operational and strategic decisions.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, monitor budgets, and manage audits.
  • Oversee payroll management, including pension schemes, and support HR with staff forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities to maximize resources and income.
Person Specification:
  • A background in accounting
  • Previous experience as a Finance Manager
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Knowledge of academy funding, financial regulations, and systems.
  • An analytical mindset and the ability to make strategic decisions based on financial data.
