Group Financial Controller required for an established construction business based in Staffordshire. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and leading team you will be responsible for the following:
- Management of a team of 7; lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage staff to ensure they are fully motivated to achieve best performance to meet the Company's objectives.
- Prepare financial analysis to support key business decisions such as projects & capex
- Preparation of business plan, budget and forecasts to meet Group requirements
- Completion of monthly WIP schedules for bank funding
- Doing regular balance sheet audits/checks to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Lead continuous improvements on key systems
- Ensuring processes and procedures are up to date, adhered to and fit for purpose
- Authorisation of payments (payroll/subcon/purchase ledger)
- Ensuring full HMRC compliance
- Manage the annual audit, planning preparation for the audit and liaising with the auditors as required.
- Sign off monthly VAT returns
- Additional ad-hoc work
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ ACMA or equivalent) with significant experience at Financial Controller level. You will ideally have worked within the construction sector or within project led environments however, the client will consider wider operationally led businesses.
