Robert Half are partnering with specialist manufacturing business based in Staffordshire, to appoint a highly skilled and commercially astute Senior Management Accountant.

The Senior Management Accountant role involves hands-on management of transactional and operational financial activities, ensuring compliance with internal and external standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely management accounts, supporting statutory reporting, and providing insightful financial analysis to drive business performance.

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven finance professional to join a dynamic organisation and play a key role in shaping the financial success of the business. The Senior Management Accountant will work closely with senior stakeholders, gaining exposure to strategic decision-making and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, variance analysis, and commentaries.
  • Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audits, working with external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting policies and timely filing.
  • Report on company assets and liabilities, including balance sheet reconciliations and the review of intangible assets.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process, supporting strategic financial planning.
  • Manage capital expenditure and associated monthly processes.
  • Continuously review and refine accounting processes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial investigations and reporting as required.
  • Oversee VAT processes and ensure timely submission of VAT.
  • Complete foreign exchange transactions as necessary.
  • Develop financial analysis techniques to evaluate company performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and KPIs to the senior management team.
  • Produce weekly/monthly KPIs to monitor business performance.

Person Specification:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Background in manufacturing.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Highly proficient with Excel.
  • Strong team player with a commercial mindset.
  • Experience in people management.
  • Confident in working with non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to drive process improvements.
