- Process and administer DoLS requests, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales.
- Work closely with Best Interest Assessors (BIAs), Mental Health Assessors (MHAs), and legal representatives to ensure appropriate authorisations.
- Liaise with care homes and hospitals to guide them through the DoLS application process.
- Monitor and prioritise referrals, ensuring urgent cases are completed within 21 days.
- Coordinate meetings and training for Best Interest Assessors to maintain compliance.
- Use internal computer systems to track, update, and report on DoLS cases.
- Ensure individuals subject to judicial scrutiny are identified and referred to legal services promptly.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C or above) or equivalent.
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Code of Practice.
- Experience in administration and working with internal/external stakeholders.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with professionals at all levels.
