A Transport General Manager is required to lead and manage the logistics department of a large transport and distribution company based in Staffordshire. The ideal candidate will have excellent management and leadership skills with a focus on operational efficiency.

Description
- Managing a Transport operation with roughly 450 assets and a sizeable workforce.
- Lead planning and operations across a large national retail operation
- Take responsibility for operational best practice including compliance, health and safety and driver performance
- Responsible for an annual budget of roughly £45m per year.
- Manage customer commercial relations for an Open Book large national contract
- Driving best practice and supporting the development of a CI culture
- To help develop future leaders within the business
Profile
The successful Transport General Manager should have:
- A logistics and distribution background
- A National or International CPC qualification
- Demonstrable experience of managing 3pl operations preferably in open book and/or retail environment
- Experience of budget management and P+L responsibility of over £35 million
- Demonstrable experience of CI/LEAN culture development is an advantage
