Job Title: Valuation and Estates Surveyor
Pay Rate: £560.25 per day (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: 6 months

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a skilled Valuation and Estates Surveyor to provide comprehensive professional valuation and estates management services to a local authority in Staffordshire. This includes acting on behalf of the Council and other bodies.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Valuation and Estates Surveyor, your duties will include:
·Conducting inspections, surveys, valuations, negotiations, and managing:
a. Property acquisitions (via agreement or CPO powers)
b. Property disposals
c. Lease negotiations, renewals, rent reviews, and service charges
d. Easements, wayleaves, and appropriations
e. Building insurance reinstatement valuations, including claims processing
f. Non-domestic rating assessments and appeals
g. Asset register management
h. Project management for development/refurbishment schemes
i. General estates management (lease variations, dilapidations, property rights protection)
·Providing strategic advice on corporate estate matters to other departments and members of the Council.
·Managing relationships with external bodies, including agents, consultants, and contractors.
·Preparing and presenting reports, as well as attending relevant meetings and committees.
·Providing expert testimony for arbitration, tribunals, and court proceedings as needed.
·Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations for managed premises and land.

Skills & Experience Required:
·Proven experience in estates and valuation management
·Strong negotiation, project management, and communication skills
·Ability to provide expert advice and reports
·Familiarity with computer programs and tools relevant to the role
