Product Category Manager
  • Location: Cannock, Staffordshire
  • Salary: £38,000-£44,000 plus Quarterly paid Bonus

My Family run client are seeking a Product Category Manager to lead supply and stock management efforts. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing the best cost pricing for a specific product category, with the goal of supporting business growth and maximising profitability.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Negotiate and secure the best pricing from suppliers, preparing competitive quotations for the sales team.
  • Place daily purchase orders for stock and non-stock items, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Monitor purchase orders to confirm they are on schedule and that deliveries are booked in.
  • Manage the SAP-MRP system for the category to ensure stock availability meets customer demand.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships, meeting suppliers quarterly
  • Driving continuous performance improvements.
  • Maintain rigorous control over buying prices, actively seeking ways to reduce costs.
  • Liaison and collaboration with Marketing, sales, R&D, NPD teams internally
  • Responsible for a spend of approximately 10MIL, stock holding for this category of 1MIL

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in supply chain management, particularly in securing favourable pricing and managing stock levels.
  • Proficiency in ERP/ MRP systems and a strong understanding of stock management practices, SAP knowledge would be an advantage.
  • Strong MS Excel user
  • Someone who is used to a fast-paced working environment
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and a keen eye for detail.
