Now recruiting for a Clinical Coding Manager with a passion for coding and a drive to lead the team to excellence. As an Accredited Clinical Coder with leadership qualities, you will be responsible for the strategy, development, and day-to-day management of the company coding systems and services. This role requires a highly organised individual with a strong interest in quality management and service delivery excellence.
Day-to-day of the role:- Oversee the coding strategy and ensure the smooth running of the department to meet monthly deadlines.
- Conduct monthly one-to-one meetings with team members to set individual and team objectives.
- Handle customer cases, ensuring responses are within the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Distribute workload evenly across the team and ensure all members are multiskilled.
- Provide support and training to colleagues on clinical coding matters.
- Educate both customers and internal staff on coding principles.
- Maintain and update all coding-related processes, ensuring the integrity of the coding process.
- Keep abreast of market trends and external coding affairs.
- Lead the development of coding classifications and liaise with customers for new code development.
- Analyse and support various clinical and pharmacy code sets.
- Map clinical codes to relevant classifications and ensure standardisation across systems.
- Maintain provider Chargemaster mappings and support the implementation of clinical code sets.
- Plan and chair customer coding workshops and support coding-related system enhancements.
- Degree level education or recognised equivalent.
- National Accredited Clinical Coder Qualification (ACC).
- Proven managerial experience in managing a clinical coding team.
- High-level customer service experience and familiarity with CRM systems, Salesforce desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology.
- Expertise in ICD-10 and OPCS-4 coding rules and conventions.
- Strong analytical, administrative, and organisational skills with great attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and good team player attributes.
- Ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships both internally and externally.
- Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 D.O.E
- Hybrid working model with 3 days in the office (after probation)
- 25 days annual leave.
