2nd Line Engineer - Urgently needed

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 2nd Line Engineer to join our clients IT support team in Stalybridge. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on an IT Helpdesk, you will

be responsible for providing advanced technical support across a wide range of hardware, software, and networking issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote technical support and, when necessary, travel to client sites to resolve complex IT issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a variety of technical problems related to hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, firewalls, security, and proxies.
  • Offer expertise in core Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems, Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical users.
  • Collaborate with the IT support team to ensure seamless service delivery and issue resolution.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Continuously update and enhance technical knowledge to stay current with industry developments.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Good working knowledge of hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, firewalls, security, and proxies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server and desktop operating systems, as well as Microsoft 365, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon into user-friendly language.
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative and also collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to the different site offices if needed.
