Our client, a leading organisation in the electrical industry, is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Stores Person to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining efficient stock control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and make informed decisions on stock replenishment using guidance from the computerised stock system.
  • Organisation: Organise and maintain existing inventory to ensure it is easily and safely accessible.
  • Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of stock deliveries, ensuring that all items are accounted for and in good condition.
  • Process Development: Develop efficient systems and processes for stock control to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Delivery Acceptance: Accept deliveries of stock, ensuring that items are undamaged and all ordered products are present.
  • Faulty Goods Management: Facilitate the return of faulty goods and products, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of the stock and enforce health and safety rules within the storeroom.
  • Training: Provide training to staff on proper practises and emergency procedures related to stock handling.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing an Engineering Stores.
  • Valid forklift licence.
  • Confident, capable individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and spreadsheets for inventory management.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety at Work regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good mathematical abilities.
