Responsibilities:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and learning activities.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with diverse learning needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs).
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to assess student progress and provide feedback.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to the planning and preparation of lessons and resources.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and support students with diverse needs.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A positive and proactive attitude towards supporting student learning and well-being.
