Duties of a Business Development Manager:

  • Identify new business opportunities.
  • Generate leads and cold call prospective customers.
  • Create a sales pipeline.
  • Negotiate pricing with customers, and suppliers.
  • Carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present findings to senior management.
  • Meet with customers and clients face to face both in the UK and globally.
  • Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these.
  • Discuss sales strategy and activities with senior members of the team.

Skills and experience required of a Business Development Manager

  • Experienced as a Business Development Manager generating new business both in the UK and globally.
  • Experience in the promotional merchandise sector.
  • Ability to translate a client brief into a range of products that meet a client’s expectations.
  • Highly organised, methodical, and ability to multi-task successfully.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly motivated, driven and tenacious.
